HAILEE STEINFELD SLAYS
Dickinson, Hawkeye, Music + more

Hailee Steinfeld is the multi-talented babe of this generation, and, quite frankly, highly underrated. But with some returning favorites, a role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and hopefully some new music, “Hailee Steinfeld” might be a name you hear more often.
Disney announced at its 2020 summit that Steinfeld would portray Kate Bishop in an upcoming series. Bishop’s superhero name is Hawkeye and was the first female character to take the superhero moniker. She is also part of the Young Avengers squad, opening up the possibility of more Steinfeld as the bow-and-arrow-wielding heroine. Steinfeld is going to positively rule in the MCU.

Ever since her breakout, Oscar-nominated performance in the Coen Brothers’ remake of True Grit, Steinfeld has balanced her acting career with mainstream hits and indie favorites. For every Pitch Perfect 2 and Bumblebee she starred in, she also moved us in roles in The Edge of Seventeen and Begin Again. Her diverse repertoire demonstrates her enormous capabilities as a 24-year-old.
That harmony is found in her TV projects as well. In 2019, she achieved critical acclaim once again for her performance as writer Emily Dicinson in AppleTV+’s Dickinson. The queer interpretation of Dickinson’s life drew in audiences for arguably the platform’s best series. Season 2 of the hit drama drops on January 8.
“One thing I love so much about this show is that it is in no way putting anyone in a box,” she told V Magazine about Dickinson. “I think that we are moving closer and closer to that in our world today. What’s so wild about this show is that it takes place hundreds and hundreds of years ago, and yet we’re still dealing with some of the issues that they were then. Our show looks at that time through a modern lens.”
Now, we can’t forget her music career. Despite having created certified bops like “Starving” and “You’re Such A,” Steinfeld hasn’t put out a full-length album yet. Yes, that’s mostly because she’s too busy on our TV screens, but we have to admit we would love to see her put out a 15-track studio album for us in the near future. Like we said, it’s not like she’s busy or anything. *wink*
