Time to call all Potterheads! It’s been almost ten years since the last Harry Potter movie was released. After becoming the third highest-grossing film series behind the Marvel Cinematic Universe and Star Wars, it’s safe to say it left a huge impact on billions of people worldwide.

With that said, Harry Potter would not have been nearly as impressive without the actors portraying the golden trio–Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, and Emma Watson. If you’re wondering, what have they been up to for the last ten years? Let’s find out!

Daniel Radcliffe

While you may be thinking that Harry Potter–er, Daniel Radcliffe–has been up to no good, he’s been in several movies and shows since the series ended (the most out of the trio). He’s appeared in The Woman in Black (2012), Horns (2013), Victor Frankenstien (2015), and Now You See Me 2 (2016). Radcliffe also had guest appearances in A Young Doctor’s Notebook & Other Stories (2012-2013), BoJack Horseman (2015), and The Simpsons (2010-2018). Currently, Radcliffe is in the comedy Miracle Workers, which he’s been a part of since the series first aired in 2019, and he is filming the Lost City of D, a new movie set to come out in 2022.

In terms of genre, Radcliffe is all over the place. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, he addressed the randomness and variety of his parts since Harry Potter: “It is to just try as much and do as much as I can, and the pattern, if there is one, is more based around doing what I like or will challenge me or working with people that I enjoy, and also just keeping busy.”

Emma Watson

Of the trio, Emma Watson has had the most luck since the series ended. While the other two have found success in television shows, Watson has been most victorious in movies. She’s landed roles that include Sam in The Perks of Being A Wallflower, Belle in Disney’s live-action Beauty and the Beast, and Meg March in Little Women. What is surprising is that she has done less in film than Grint and Radcliffe.

While she has had the most fame, she also revealed in an interview with British Vogue in 2019 that she’s struggled with all aspects of being a child star. But, she’s come to terms with that “part of the peace within [herself] is remembering [her] identity.” We’re so happy that she’s made it big because we wouldn’t have so many notable films without her!

Rupert Grint

Rupert Grint has been in 19 videos, movies, and shows since the end of Harry Potter (and his first appearance was in Ed Sheeran’s “Lego House” music video in 2011!). Although he’s appeared in movies, most of his work has been focused on TV shows and shorts. For example, he plays Julian Pearce in the show Servant–a thriller series about a couple who lose a child and replace their baby with a look-a-like doll. Grint told Esquire that the show is “the worst show to be doing, being a new dad,”…and we can only imagine why!
