HAWKEYE, A NEW DISNEY+ SERIES
MARVELous Jeremy Renner & Hailee Steinfeld

New Disney + Series Premiering Nov 24
In less than a year, Disney Plus has become a must-have for fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. WandaVision, The Falcon & The Winter Soldier, and Loki have broken records for the streaming service. Later this year, these shows will be joined by Hawkeye, starring Jeremy Renner and Haley Seinfeld.

The last time we saw Jeremy Renner’s Hawkeye was in Avengers: Endgame. He had lost his entire family and was coping with this by murdering criminals in Japan before being recruited to defeat Thanos. The Hawkeye series will explore the aftermath of his overseas excursion and introduce MCU fans to Kate Bishop. Bishop is known to comic fans as Hawkeye’s sidekick but in reality, she’s more of his equal. She’ll be introduced as a Hawkeye fangirl who eventually joins him in his superhero adventures. Kate Bishop will be played by Hailee Steinfeld. This will be Steinfeld’s second comic adaptation role as she previously played Gwen Stacy in Spider-Man: Into the Spiderverse.
The series will also star Vera Farmiga as Kate’s mother Eleanor and Alaqua Cox as the archer vigilante Echo. Florence Pugh will also be joining the cast. She’ll be reprising her role as Yelena Belova from Black Widow, which is not surprising if you stuck around after the movie’s credits.
Hawkeye will be based on the Eisner award-winning comic run from Matt Fraction and Aja which gave readers a look at what Hawkeye did when he wasn’t saving the world. The comic also co-starred Kate Bishop. This comic is the one defense against people who say that Hawkeye is a boring character. The MCU version of Hawkeye isn’t that interesting so it’s great that they’re actually drawing inspiration from the quintessential Hawkeye series and making a show about it.
Hawkeye will be released on November 24, 2021, on Disney Plus.
