Incredible Jessica James
A sexy, frisky, funny adult romp on Netflix

In 2012, Jessica Williams made her debut as the youngest-ever correspondent on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, and quickly became one of the show’s standout characters, bringing her signature brand of humor to the political comedy series. After retiring from the show in 2016 (following Stewart‘s own departure in 2015), everyone was just dying to know what the young star would do next.
Williams has appeared in movies before – she had small roles in Delivery Man and Hot Tub Time Machine 2 – but she’s about to become the next big thing: the upcoming Netflix original, The Incredible Jessica James, will mark her debut as a full-fledged leading lady. Williams stars as a New York City-based playwright who is struggling to make it big in the intimidating city while also trying to recover from a failed romance. Along the way, she meets Boone, a recently-divorced man played by the lovely and talented Chris O’Dowd (The IT Crowd, Bridesmaids, and the upcoming EPIX’s comedy series, Get Shorty).
Professional critics are already raving about the palpable chemistry between Williams and O’Dowd, and the movie is shaping up to be a summer sleeper hit. It’s an intimate comedy/drama/romance about interpersonal relationships with a healthy helping of overtly sexual humor, courtesy of writer/director Jim Strouse, the indie darling behind favorites like The Winning Season, Grace is Gone, and People Places Things, which marked his first collaboration with Jessica Williams.
The Incredible Jessica James debuts on Netflix on July 28.
