James Franco does it again. The film actor, poet, soap opera star and performance artist is elevating a low-brow piece of pop culture with a remake of the TV movie Mother May I Sleep with Danger?. It’s been 20 years since the debut of the original movie, which starred Tori Spelling as a young woman who gets romantically involved with a violent psychopath (Ivan Sergei). In Franco’s new Lifetime version, Spelling plays a mom whose daughter falls in love with a female vampire. “You’ll have a very non Lifetime movie on Lifetime,” promises Franco. Watch it on demand.
