After 12 years as the sweet and straightforward Penny of The Big Bang Theory, Kaley Cuoco is sweet and simple no more. The model/actress has re-defined herself in 2020. She has been taking on darker and more flawed characters, and the 35-year-old old has also been picking up producer credits. Cuoco was the executive producer for the DC TV series Harley Quinn, and she starred in and helped produce the HBO Max mini-series The Flight Attendant, which premiered on Thanksgiving day.
Kaley took to Instagram to prep fans for the change they were about to see. She said, “I appreciate you Big Bang Theory fans who maybe really loved Penny for so long and find it hard to turn that off and look at me in a different way and follow me down this path. I know that can be really hard. I appreciate the people that took the chance, maybe even if you were unsure, thank you for taking this ‘flight’ with me and check out the new show…” Watch the adorable video below.
The mini-series is an HBO max must-see, starring Kaley as Cassie Bowden along with Michael Huisman. The show is filled with fun and thrills, but it also takes a deep dive into substance abuse, mental illness, and emotional trauma. The story starts with a sexy romance between a flight attendant and a first-class passenger but ends with a murder mystery and the FBI. If you aren’t already obsessed with Kaley Cuoco’s acting skills, you will be after watching The Flight Attendant.
Luckily for fans, Cuoco is filming a major motion picture, Man from Toronto. In this world of deadly assassins, Kaley will be co-starring alongside Kevin Hart and Woody Harrelson. It is an action-comedy movie directed by Patrick Hughes and based on the same name’s Robbie Fox novel. Sony is set to release it on October 19th, 2021.
