The L Word is back!

We’re in for another season of lusty lady-love

It’s been a long dry spell—five years to be exact—since we’ve delved into the love lives of our favorite West Hollywood lesbians. Well, it looks like the wait is finally over as Showtime announces the comeback of its hugely popular series, The L Word.

The ink may not be dry on the deal—yet—but at least three former cast members are onboard: the sexy Kate Moennig (Shane), the gorgeous Jennifer Beals (Bette), and the adorable Leisha Hailey (Alice). Their returning characters will be the bridge between the original series and the new one, which will weclome a new slew of women to the L World.

Original creator Ilene Chaiken will be back as an executive producer but she’s been busy since the series went off the air as the showrunner for Fox’s hit show, Empire, so will not be hands-on with this fresh version. The search is on for a new showrunner for The L Word with strong ties in the lesbian community. PROVOKR will keep you updated as this story develops.
