LA RÉVOLUTION
An Epic Reimagining Of The French Revolution

“A day will come, when the slaves will break their chains and when the wretched will join forces to raise their cry of rebellion.” Those words foreshadowed a moment in time; the time of a revolution: La Révolution.
On Friday, October 16, Netflix will launch the French drama, La Révolution, a show that will chronicle “reimagined events” leading up to the French Revolution. The trailer —watch it above—dropped last month, implicating the beat-for-beat recount of our history books, but conveying something far more complicated.
It is said to follow Joseph-Ignace Guillotin, the guillotine’s inventor, who uncovers a disease called “Blue Blood.” The sinister condition is said to spill from individual bodies while others bleed red.

This disease represents collateral brewing tensions between the aristocracy and the rebels, the French monarchy versus the Realm (the clergy, the nobility, and the commoners).
The conflict led to brutal executions and aristocracy members vowing to destroy the “Brotherhood” that is planning to overthrow them.
Another plot point follows a storyline where an endangered doctor actively investigates the murder of a young girl. It’s all embroiled in a two-minute hype package featuring star-crossed lovers and freaky cult-like masks.
Much of the show’s intrigue stems from the lengths Aurélien Molas will go in this Netflix exclusive.
Molas, a young producer on the rise, is no stranger to suspense, blood, and gore. Actress Coline Beal also worked alongside Molas in 2019’s French thriller, Get In. The cast includes Amir El Kacem (who will play the role of Guillotin), Lionel Erdogan, Marilou Aussilloux, Laurent Lucas, and Julien Frison.
Given the hype for the show, the possibilities are endless. On Friday, we can expect some answers to our questions.
