King of the Court. King of TV. LeBron James is more than just number 23 (or number 6 if you want to go back to his time in Miami). It seems the NBA all-star and record-breaker from Akron, Ohio, didn’t just move to LA to join the Lakers, but perhaps to begin his career transition after basketball.

In 2018, LeBron signed a $154 million, four-year contract with the Lakers. Lucky for him, the team extended his contract through 2023. But, his location allows him to continue his acting and TV production projects more easily. Yes, LeBron is more than just a killer on the court.

It seems, according to his list of projects, that his role in the 2015 Amy Schumer comedy Trainwreck is what led him to production. That same year, LeBron founded his company, SpringHill Entertainment, with media mogul Maverick Carter. It’s no surprise, though, because LeBron’s performance in Trainwreck was iconic.

His acting career isn’t stopping there. He will star in the sequel to the 1996 Michael Jordan-led film Space Jam. Sure, this will only emphasize the MJ versus LeBron competition, but we can deal with that for the sake of cinema.

More than that, LeBron’s recent deal with ABC Studios will allow him to communicate on a powerful platform. It will include his projects like The Wall, a reality trivia show, and Becoming, which tells inspirational stories from your favorite celebrities on Disney+. As LeBron continues his legacy on the court, we’re excited to see what he does off the court in media and philanthropy. He’s truly becoming the King of Everything.
