No series in recent memory has had as many moves as Love, Victor. The spin-off to the blockbuster movie Love, Simon was slated to be part of Disney+’s original programming. In February, the company moved Love, Victor, to Hulu because it didn’t fit the family-friendly nature of Disney+.

Now, the teen series moved again. Instead of premiering on June 19, it was moved up to June 17. The original date is also known as Juneteenth, a holiday commemorating the end of slavery in the U.S. As the protests persist for the Black Lives Matter movement, Hulu decided it was best to leave that day open.

“This date represents an important turning point for our nation and human rights and we believe that now, more than ever, it deserves to have its day in the spotlight,” Hulu said.

Love, Victor follows its titular character at Creekwood high school — the same school in the movie. In its first season, Victor adapts to a new city, deals with problems at home and struggles with his sexual orientation. It’s similar to Love, Simon, which followed its title character as he came out to his parents.

The trailer — watch it above — highlights the difficulties of coming out to family and moving to a new school where one strives to fit in and make friends. The show will introduce us to the next wave of talent who won’t have to feel the pressure of being a typical “Disney kid.” Michael Camino leads the adult cast with support from George Sear, Anthony Turpel and Rachel Naomi Hilson (This Is Us). And if you want to watch Love, Simon before the series drops, you can rent it on Amazon.
