Move over Westworld; there are more sexy robots ahead. OK, Made For Love’s main characters aren’t technically robots, but they have mind-melding chips implanted into their brains to make them a stronger couple. And that couple is played by Cristin Milioti (Palm Springs) and Billy Magnussen

Made for Love is based on the novel of the same name by Alissa Nutting. It follows tech billionaire Byron Gogol (Magnussen), who creates a device for couples that blends their thoughts. It causes what some people might think of as the ideal relationship. Byron implants the device into his wife, Hazel (Milioti), and the two live in the test trailer for quite some time to optimize their implants. (Yes, that includes rating their orgasms.)

When Hazel becomes aware of the chip’s effect on her brain, she demands its removal and a divorce. It forces her to move in with her father (Ray Romano) and his sophisticated and life-like sex doll. Meanwhile, Byron is using his gadgets to track down his wife. The trailer — watch it by clicking the image at the top — offers us a glimpse of a crazy world, and it has reeled us in.

New Jersey native Milioti is hot right now. After last year’s success of the Andy Samberg comedy Palm Springs, she finds herself in a powerful position. She is fresh in people’s minds and will be a draw to this HBO Max comedy.

The first three episodes of the series drop on April 1, with the remaining seven shows to stream weekly. With this stellar cast and off-the-wall concept, there is no reason NOT to watch PROVOKRs.
