Masters of Sex Preview
A look at the upcoming season of the Showtime drama
When the fourth season of Masters of Sex debuts on Sept. 11, big changes are brewing. Although the season begins in 1968, the story of the human sexuality pioneers William Masters (Michael Sheen) and Virginia Johnson (Lizzy Caplan) quickly advances into the swinging ’70s (with an emphasis on swinging). The two researchers watch the revolution they started induce widespread aftershocks as society becomes more freewheeling in its attitude toward sex. “The more famous they become and the more public they are, they get into some really interesting stuff,” divulged the series’ creator Michelle Ashford.
