MILLIE BOBBY BROWN
11 of Stranger Things Is 11 No More

For the past four years, Millie Bobby Brown has lent her acting talents to Eleven’s role in Netflix’s teen sci-fi drama, Stranger Things. Throughout its run —slated for a 2021 return — Brown hasn’t spent her time chasing other parts. In fact, with only 14 credits to her name, Brown’s career is just getting started.
Brown’s breakthrough performance on Stranger Things happened in 2016. She plays Eleven, who has telekinetic abilities. When she runs away from the institution where she lives, she stumbles across a group of boys. They take her under their wings, teach her to speak and feed her Eggo waffles.
Eleven is a reserved character — I mean, who wouldn’t be after facing that much trauma. But as the series progresses, Eleven emerges from her shell and acts like an average teenager. Off-screen, however, Brown radiates vibrant energy. She’s a fun, fashionable, British young woman. And, at the age of 16, on the precipice of something big.
Brown has been tapped to play Nora in Jason Bateman’s Netflix adaptation of The Girls I’ve Been, a novel by Tess Sharpe. In it, Nora uses persuasion to get herself, her girlfriend and her ex-boyfriend out of a bank hostage situation. It will mark the first time Brown plays an LGBTQ character.
It seems Netflix is looking to add Brown to their laundry list of A-list talent. The streamer also picked up Enola Holmes, in which she stars as the titular character. Following her father Sherlock (Henry Cavill), Enola must use her deduction skills to find her missing mother. With the likes of Helena Bonham Carter in it, this will surely find its footing on Netflix.

Brown isn’t just an actress, though. After being the youngest person ever featured in Time’s 100 most influential people, Brown became the youngest UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador. In that position, she advocates for children’s rights on behalf of the United Nations Children’s Fund. On top of that, she is vegetarian and owns a vegan beauty company, florence by mills.
Millie Bobby Brown is already a star. But when Stranger Things inevitably wraps up and its stellar cast moves on, we believe Brown will be on our screens a lot more.
