MONEY HEIST
The Emotional End To Spain's Mega Series

Through five seasons, Money Heist has dominated Netflix’s global streaming numbers. Season four garnered its largest audience at the time with 65 million viewers. But, like all good things, Money Heist is coming to an end.
Known in Spain as La Casa de Papel, the highly anticipated second act to the last season hits Netflix on December 3. It picks up where part one left off. The heist crew have zero hostages, but a special forces unit surrounding the building still wants the gold. The Professor continues trying to win over Alicia‘s trust, who may be the group’s downfall. Trust is a fatal flaw. Then there’s Tokyo. Oh, poor Tokyo! No one can survive four grenades to a chest, but at least she died helping her colleagues proceed with the mission.

The trailers — watch them below — hint at an emotional end. But it’s still likely to include those legendary plot twists Money Heist is known for. More of our favorite characters are inevitably going to die, but at least they do so fighting.
Even though the world’s greatest heist is coming to an end, Netflix is working on some spin-offs. Tee first is one in South Korea. Pre-production has started, so filming should begin soon. That means the South Korean version could be on the streaming platform as early as Fall 2022.
It’s especially timely — and a smart business decision — to start with a spin-off in South Korea. Series like Squid Game and No Name have brought notoriety to Netflix’s K-Dramas. The streaming platform has much more than those two to offer, and Money Heist: South Korea is a welcome addition to its catalog. The actress who portrayed Played 067 in Squid Game, HoYeon Jung, would fit perfectly into a heist drama. Cast her, please!
So, even though Money Heist wraps up in December with five fresh episodes, you have a lot to look forward to in its expanded universe. Maybe some of these characters who survive in Spain will make the journey to South Korea. We can only hope, right, PROVOKRs?
