If you judged a TV show’s cool factor by its theme song, Sundance TV’s The Last Panthers couldn’t get much hipper—David Bowie arranged his brooding single “Blackstar” to play over the show’s opening credits. Plus, the 6-part series—which debuts April 13—stars two-time Academy Award nominee Samantha Morton and John Hurt and revolves around a jewel heist. Morton plays a British insurance adjuster who’s trying to track down the thieves. But don’t expect a semi-comedic romp a la Ocean’s Eleven, this tale takes a darker turn into gun trafficking and organized crime.
