New Look at The Get Down
Another peek at Baz Luhrmann's Netflix series

From August 5 through August 21, TV is going to be all about the Rio Olympics. But smack dab in the middle of that stretch—on August 12 to be exact—Netflix will be unveiling it’s most ambitious project yet: The Get Down, a musical drama from director Baz Luhrmann. Set in the late 1970s in the burned out heart of the Bronx, The Get Down charts the rise of hip-hop through eyes of the young kids looking put their distinctive mark on the history of music. With its period costuming and set design, this latest, longest trailer for the show gives you some idea how Luhrmann spent the $120 million it reportedly cost Netflix to produce it.
