Hulu is serving us another streaming addiction. This time it comes in the form of a Middle Eastern action series called No Man’s Land.

Set in Syria, the 8-episode series follows Frenchman Antoine (Félix Moati, who will star in The French Dispatch) as he joins forces with female Kurdish fighters to find his sister (Mélanie Thierry, La Douleur) in ISIS-controlled territory. As they travel deeper into the war-torn land, Antoine uncovers secrets about his sister that helps him understand her journey to the country.

Hailing from “Fauda” and “First Flag” producer Maria Feldman, the series brings together writers Amit Cohen of False Flag and Ron Leshem of Euphoria fame. With pedigree like that, the show is bound to be good.

The trailer — watch it above — gives us a glimpse into the drama and action to come. It also brings forth a trend rising in TV that highlights the Middle East. Famously, Amazon Prime’s hit series Jack Ryan traveled to the Middle East in its first season. What’s different about this is it’s not an American coming in to save the day. It puts those who are close to the action in the position of power — and we can’t wait to watch.
