NOAH CENTINEO
Is Having A Moment — Or Several of Them

Among TV’s class of up-and-coming heartthrobs, Noah Centineo is near the top of the list. (Jacob Elordi provides some competition). The 24-year-old oozes charisma. In his style, and apparent authenticity, it comes through in his swagger, making him an actor that Gen Z repeatedly turns to — and that’s because he is part of one of the most popular Netflix franchises to date.
That, of course, is To All The Boys I Loved Before, along with rising star Lana Condor. The third (and final) installment of the series hit the streaming platform earlier this year around Valentine’s Day, an annual tradition since the first one was released in 2018.
It’s the teen rom-com that propelled Centineo into stardom. Overnight, he went from 800,000 followers to 13.4 million. Now he has an incredible 18.4 million followers. And, Centineo is very aware of his platform. Ahead of the 2020 Presidential Election, he hosted a pop-up gallery in Los Angeles where influencers could take images of voting messages to mobilize Gen Z voters.
Though To All The Boys has been his ticket to bigger and better opportunities, Centineo got his start on Freeform’s groundbreaking series, The Fosters. Centineo famously replaced Disney actor Jake T. Austin in 2015 and remained in the role. It was his first instance of “who’s that guy?” that carried him to his Netflix stint, including a teen rom-com called The Perfect Date.
New roles and a seemingly different direction are on the horizon for Centineo. It appears he landed the lead role in the upcoming romance film The Diary directed by Jackie Chan. On top of that, he has two superhero projects in the works: one as He-Man in Masters of the Universe and Atom Smasher in Black Adam, starring Dwyane “The Rock” Johnson in the titular role.
As Centineo enters this new phase, it will be telling of what kind of actor he is. This is possibly the most critical, pivotal moment, and we are watching with encouragement and enthusiasm for this young, hot talent.
