Although 21-year-old Australian runner Morgan Mitchell didn’t live up to her own expectations at the Rio Games—she didn’t qualify for a spot in the 400m finals—she proved to be a star in her post-race interviews. “You have got to laugh at those things though,” said Mitchell of her ill-fated race, saying she got overexcited and ended up sprinting too fast too soon. “You have kids watching and you don’t want them to see you down. You have to keep happy and positive. Just keep positive, it’s not the end of the world. It was just a poor performance on the wrong night.”
