PEAKY BLINDERS SEASON 6 +
Brad Pitt, Bella Thorne, David Beckham and a Film?

After a very long hiatus, Peaky Blinders is finally returning for a sixth season. It’s been two whole years since the fifth season ended, no thanks to the pandemic, so I’d say it’s about time!
If you haven’t seen Peaky Blinders, a quick summary of the series is that it follows a crime family, the Shelbys, in the aftermath of the First World War and their struggle with the forces fighting against them.
Though the sixth season is just about to air, we’ve known that it has been coming since May 2018, when show creator Steven Knight told the Birmingham Press Club that they “are definitely doing [series] six and we will probably do seven.” Though his word remains valid for a sixth season, it recently came out that it will be the show’s final season. Knight also shared that: “‘ Peaky is back and with a bang. After the enforced production delay due to the Covid pandemic, we find the family in extreme jeopardy and the stakes have never been higher. We believe this will be the best series of all and are sure that our amazing fans will love it. While the TV series will be coming to an end, the story will continue in another form.” Another form being either a spin-off or a movie based on the show!
The series will continue with the following cast: Cillian Murphy (Thomas “Tommy” Shelby), Paul Anderson (Arthur Shelby Jr.), Sophie Rundle (Ada Thorne), Ned Dennehy (Charlie Strong), and Benjamin Zephaniah (Jeremiah “Jimmy” Jesus). Other stars include Harry Kirton (Finn Shelby), Neil Maskell (Winston Churchill), Natasha O’Keeffe (Lizzie Shelby), Packy Lee (Johnny Dogs), Finn Cole (Michael Gray), Anya Taylor-Joy (Gina Gray), Tom Hardy (Alfie Solomons), Charlie Murphy (Jessie Eden), Sam Claflin (Sir Oswald Mosley), and Kate Phillips (Linda Shelby). Helen McCrory (Aunt Polly Gray) was also part of the main cast, but it’s unclear if Aunt Polly appears since her passing earlier this year.

The final shows will pick up where the fifth season left off—and if you’ve seen it, you will know what I mean. Arka Mukhopadhyay from The Cinemaholic wrote about what he believes we can expect: “[it will] begin with a characteristic time jump. The tensions will rise, with the threat of the Second World War looming on the horizon. The rumors of the coming war will overshadow the entire season, as it will pick up the story from 1934. In all likelihood, the Shelbys will get tangled in a war of their own. There will presumably be more parallels with history, as the 30s were a turbulent time for England. Stakes will be higher, and the story will turn more tragic.”
There is no exact date for when season six will be released, but we’re hoping to see it on Netflix next year after it airs on the BBC (assuming everything goes according to schedule!)
