Before she was prominent in the U.S., Priyanka Chopra Jonas was an award-winning Bollywood actress and filmmaker and a beauty queen. Her talents got noticed in the states when she got her breakout role as Alex on the hit show Quantico. The part led her to household name status and landed her in the Baywatch film. These days a lot of her press is about her and her famous husband, Nick Jonas. But, Chopra Jonas is getting attention for her upcoming works and includes Oscar buzz too. THE WHITE TIGER
Netflix’s The White Tiger is already generating Best Picture whispers, which would also get Chopra Jonas her first nomination as an executive producer. The film follows an Indian servant who tries to break through the nation’s caste system to rise to the top. She also stars in a role that aims to empower the servant to strive for something better.
THE MATRIX 4
Ah, yes, the Wachowski sisters are at it again. Well, more specifically, Lana Wachowski. She joins the O.G. cast (Keanu Reeves, Carrie-Anne Moss, Jada Pinkett Smith, Lambert Wilson, and Daniel Bernhardt) in what is likely to be an epic installment of the mega-franchise. Though Chopra Jonas’ character is unknown, we expect she will be kicking ass.
TEXT FOR YOU
To further show the depth of her talents, Text For You is an upcoming emotional, romantic film. The novel of the same name follows a widow who sends texts to her late husband to cope with her loss. It’s a film like P.S. I Love You, and likely to get you caught up in your feelings.
CITADEL
There’s not much known about Citadel, an upcoming series, but rumor has it that it’s a spy drama. It also stars Game of Thrones and The Bodyguard actor Richard Madden. The Russo brothers are directing, so sign us up!
SHEELA
In this last role, Chopra Jonas plays the Indian Rajneesh movement leader Ma Anand Sheela. The biopic will allow her to take on this iconic figure in Indian history and bring it to a broader audience here in the States. We can’t wait to see what Priyanka Chopra Jonas accomplishes in the next few years.
