STEAMY STREAMING: QUENTIN TARANTINO
Pulp Fiction, True Romance, Hateful Eight + more!

In case you’ve been living under a rock, Quentin Tarantino’s new movie Once Upon A Time… In Hollywood is out July 26. The movie tells the tale of an actor who lives in Hollywood during the time of Charles Manson. For those of us who can’t get enough of the acclaimed director, check out some of his titles on a variety of streaming platforms:
INGLOURIOUS BASTERDS
After being removed from Netflix for a period of time, the World War II-set film Inglourious Basterds returns just days before Once Upon A Time’s debut. The film stars Brad Pitt and Christoph Waltz in Nazi-occupied France. The film will have you hooked from the start of its opening sequence.
TRUE ROMANCE
Some might be surprised to find Tarantino wrote the screenplay for True Romance. The film starring Christian Slater and Patricia Arquette follows a pop culture guru who marries a call girl and steals cocaine from her pimp. That action results in the mob coming after him, which definitely makes sense for a Tarantino movie. It’s available to watch on Crackle.
PULP FICTION
Pulp Fiction catapulted Tarantino into mass recognition. The film stars John Travolta and Samuel L. Jackson as two hitmen whose stories connect with several other characters, including a daring Uma Thurman in a black bob cut. The film is essential for any Tarantino marathon, and it can be watched on Netflix.
NATURAL BORN KILLERS
Tarantino came up with the story for this 1994 film. It stars Woody Harrelson and Juliette Lewis as traumatized people who fall in love and become killers. It’s definitely worth the $2.99 charge on YouTube.
RESERVOIR DOGS
This 1992 film marked Tarantino’s debut and showed off his impressive dialogue skills. The movie follows mobsters attempting to carry out a job, but they realize there is a cop in their midst. As they try to decipher who the cop is, Tarantino proposes the worst thing a person can be is a snitch. Reservoir Dogs is available on Hulu.
THE HATEFUL EIGHT
This movie is worth its 3-hour runtime. The whole movie essentially takes place in one room with the female outlaw played by Jennifer Jason Leigh at the center. Pay close attention to the characters in this flick — they might not all seem to be who they say they are. It’s also available on Netflix.
JACKIE BROWN
Jackie Brown is pretty much the only Tarantino movie that puts a woman in the leading role. The title character is a stewardess who acts as a drug smuggler and arms carrier for a drug lord in Mexico. When she’s caught by authorities, she has to make the decision to help the cops or continue to play everyone. Jackie Brown is available on Showtime.
