RAGDOLL WITH LUCY HALE
A Thriller -Catching A Stitching Serial Killer

It seems we all have something in common with actress Lucy Hale: She is also obsessed with true crime. She consumes the podcasts; she has watched all of the shows. Now, she is leading her own crime drama on AMC+ with the premiere on Ragdoll on November 11.
The series from the producers of Killing Eve follows Detective Lake Edmunds (Hale) as she investigates the Ragdoll killer. The name hints at the killer’s signature style. The person takes the body parts of various people and pieces them together. It’s absolutely gruesome, and the trailer — watch it below — shows that perfectly.
Hale is accompanied by a team of forensic scientists and officers. Her right hand man is DCI Simmons (Ali Cook), who had a mental breakdown at work, killed (or almost killed) a man and is somehow back on the force. Yeah,it doesn’t make sense, but it does add some much-welcome tension.
Hale has had mixed luck finding successful work since the end of the hit teen drama Pretty Little Liars. The Freeform drama ran from 2010-2017, so much of her career was spent on the series. Since then, Hale has starred in similar roles. She has been in horror films like Truth or Dare, Fantasy Island and Scream 4. She even had two other series: LIfe Sentence and Katy Keene, which is part of the Riverdale universe. Both of those series were short-lived, though.
“When you’re a part of something like Pretty Little Liars or Katy Keene, people definitely want to keep you in that box and I’m very grateful for those opportunities,” she told Deadline. “But, I made the conscious decision that after Katy Keene got cancelled I knew that the next job I did really had to creatively excite me.”
Based on the trailer, Hale definitely looks like she’s in a new creative element. Even her voice matches to perfectly fit the tone of the show. It’s much deeper and gravelly. Hale is bound to find her footing with Ragdoll, and we can’t wait to see what happens.
