ROLLING THUNDER REVUE

Netflix Doc Demystifies Bob Dylan’s Famous Tour

Bob Dylan is one of the greatest storytellers around. (He has a Pulitzer to prove it). His distinct voice makes you want to listen, and his cultural significance has always transcended generations. Maybe that’s why Martin Scorsese wanted to make a documentary about the acclaimed artist.

The Oscar-winning director will take Netflix subscribers on the tour that made absolutely no sense for a stadium-level performer: The Rolling Thunder Revue. Dylan set out on a tour to band people together during a very divisive time. Instead of going to those big venues, he played in the unlikeliest of places; in small, quaint towns where some people didn’t know his name. (Just like the nun in the trailer). And the feature will be here June 12 for your viewing pleasure.

The documentary is just one project Scorsese has in the works at Netflix. His new mobster movie, The Irishman, is due out later this year. That film features a cast that will make your head roll: Robert De Niro, Al Pacino, Anna Paquin, Harvey Keitel, Joe Pesci and so many more. Scorsese is on top of the trends, and we are here for it.
