Sarah Silverman Returns

The Sexy Provocateur Is Back On Hulu

Sarah Silverman takes no prisoners.

The comedy icon is well-known for her provocative, boundary-pushing comedy routines which ruthlessly point attention towards America’s myriad shortcomings. Silverman has always been political, but she really turned up the heat during the 2016 election, with particular scorn directed towards the “Bernie Can Still Win” crowd whose short-sighted vindictiveness against Hillary Clinton led to the election of one Donald J. Trump, a reality TV star, to the highest office in the free world.

She’s not afraid to put her neck on the line in service of a joke, a bold political stance, or both, and nowhere is that more evident than in her new Funny or Die Hulu series, I Love You, America. The half-hour comedy program is a glorious hodge-podge of every kind of comedy smashed together into a whimsical snapshot of 21st century Americana; the good, the bad, the ugly, and the ridiculous.

The clip from the series, embedded above, shows a humorous musical number which praises the country’s diverse cultural makeup while poking fun at Silverman‘s own perceived liberal elitism. It’s a surreal little song which perfectly encapsulates the show’s thoughtfully patriotic sensibilities.

Not for nothing, but Sarah Silverman, 46, doesn’t get enough credit for being as gorgeous as she really is. Check out Seth MacFarlane‘s wacky comedy, A Million Ways to Die in the West, where she plays a sexy frontier prostitute, or the under-appreciated Ashby, where she plays Nat Wolff‘s hot suburban mom. We want her to know how stunningly beautiful we find her, but we don’t want that to get in the way of how much we adore and appreciate her art.

Silverman can currently be seen on the big screen, thanks to her role in Battle of the Sexes, the biographical tennis movie about the legendary 1973 duel between Billie Jean King and Bobby Riggs, starring Emma Stone. In 2018, she will reprise her role as Venelope Von Schweetz in the highly-anticipated animated sequel, Ralph Breaks the Internet: Wreck-it-Ralph 2.

I Love You, America premiers October 12th on Hulu.
