SEBASTIAN STAN ON FIRE
The Falcon + Winter Soldier Actor's Next Moves
More Marvel content? Spy films and thrillers? Not bad for the Winter Soldier.
Off the heels of his buddy-hero mini-series Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Romanian star Sebastian Stan looks to leave his imprint on some upcoming films, following the flurry of MCU projects coming out throughout the 2021-2022 season.
Stan will star in two feature films in 2022. One film stars Normal People’s Daisy Edgar-Jones in Fresh, which is said to be in post-production. The other, an already set to premiere film starring Jessica Chastain, Fan Bingbing, Diane Kruger, Lupita Nyong’o and Penélope Cruz called The 355.
The storyline of Fresh is said to be kept under wraps, as the Mimi Cave directed piece is said to be produced by Adam McKay, formerly a writer for the sketch-comedy phenomenon SNL, and many other comedic projects led by NBC alum Will Farrell such as Anchorman and Talladega Nights.
The latter film, however, is ready to launch. And needless to say, the trailer is captivating from start to end.
Initially set to premiere in January 2021, the film is said to follow a group of women who join forces to “stop a global organization from acquiring a weapon that could thrust the teetering world into chaos.”
Directed by producer Simon Kinberg, known for his impact on the X-Men series and Deadpool, teaming up with Theresa Rebeck, the trailer offers an insight into the high stakes affair. And while Stan’s presence is felt with subtle, ominous commentary, one could imagine that the action star made famous by Marvel, would get physical. Implied by the teaser’s soundtrack, it’s likely the quintet will “run the town”.
Now to release in January 2022, the film will be a seamless transition for the actor, who will have his legion of fans tuning in with wandering eyes, tuning in to see what’s next out of Bucky.
