SHYAMALAN’S SERVANT
Director M. Night. Shyamalan Goes To AppleTV+

M. Night Shyamalan’s latest project is the twist-filled, Servant. This time, it’s on the new streaming platform AppleTV+ instead of the big screen. The 10-episode drama airs weekly through early January, and offers viewers a plot full of cliffhangers and building tension.
It is about a couple, Dorothy (Lauren Ambrose) and Sean Turner (Toby Kebbell), who hire a nanny to care for their newborn. But the baby is different. In fact, he’s not real — it’s a doll. Their child, Jericho, died when he was 13 weeks old. The trailer hints at a mystery surrounding the child’s death, but the real enigma is nanny Leanne (Nell Tiger Free). Her dead, wide-open eyes and disregard for reality creates an air of mystery for this streaming thriller. Meanwhile, Sean’s friend, Julian Pearce (played by Harry Potter alumnus Rupert Grint), is trying to get to the bottom of what’s happening and he warns his friend of troubles ahead.

All of that information is in the trailer for Servant, but there is still a lot left unsaid. Where did the nanny come from? How did the child die? Why did they replace the child with a doll? With M. Night Shyamalan in the director’s seat of the Tony Basgallop creation, there will definitely be epic twists and turns that none of us saw coming.
M. Night Shyamalan has one other TV credit to his name: one episode of Wayward Pines. He is best known for The Sixth Sense, The Village and Signs. We know he can pack a punch in two hours and can’t wait to see what he does with a 10-hour series.
