After much too long of a wait, Sex Education is finally on its way back to your Netflix account. It’s been over a year since the second season aired, so here’s a quick synopsis of what happened in the first two seasons and what to expect for the third.

In the first year, we’re introduced to Otis Milburn (Asa Butterfield), an awkward teenager who has sex therapist Jean Milburn (Gillian Anderson) for a mother. Unfortunately for Otis, because his mom is a therapist, he has no choice but to learn everything there is to know about sex and relationships (because, well, he’s surrounded by manuals, videos, and books on the topic). Because of this, Otis, along with his best friends Eric Effiong (Ncuti Gatwa) and rebel Maeve Wiley (Emma Mackey), decide to start their own ‘sex clinic’ at school to advise fellow students. In the second season, the gang helps others and themselves with their relationships as high school and family trials become more complicated. The series mainly follows Otis, Eric, Maeve, Adam Groff (Connor Swindells), Jackson Marchetti (Kedar Williams-Stirling), and Aimee Gibbs (Aimee Lou Woods) and all of their encounters with sex and sexuality.

According to lead Asa Butterfield, there’s a lot of new things to expect from this coming season, “Lemme just say, you lot aren’t ready for season 3, trust me.” He also told The Guardian that Otis has a “newfound charisma,” but he’s also still “tragically awkward.” We haven’t been given much else to go off of, but luckily Deadline provided us with some of what to expect for the upcoming season (spoiler alert if you haven’t watched the series!):

‘“It’s a new year, Otis is having casual sex, Eric and Adam are official, and Jean has a baby on the way. Meanwhile, new headteacher Hope (played by Jemima Kirke) tries to return Moordale to a pillar of excellence, Aimee discovers feminism, Jackson gets a crush and a lost voicemail still looms. Prepare for commitment animals, alien phenomena, vulva cupcakes and much more of Madam Groff.”’
