The end of the year is near, and it’s time to reflect on the best of the best in 2019. Streaming, broadcast and premium television shows continue to push the sexy, provocative envelope. So let’s take a look at some of the steamiest of the year:
MRS. FLETCHER
This new HBO offering stars Kathryn Hahn an empty-nester experiencing a sexual reawakening through porn. While she’s at home rediscovering her sexuality, her son is at college, having sex and learning how to pick-up women. The show includes full-frontal nudity and explorative sex, all presented with a sense of humor.
THE AFFAIR
Season five of Showtime’s The Affair just wrapped and it tied up all the loose ends, proving nothing is sexier than mystery. The Affair starred Dominic West, Ruth Wilson, Maura Tierney and Joshua Jackson. The plot revolved around cheating, secretive sex and offered enough tension to make you feel like it was jumping through the screen. If you haven’t watched it yet, it is well worth your time.
PEAKY BLINDERS
Cillian Murphy strips down more in this Netflix show than anyone can count. Season five premiered this year and it’s been filled with a lot more seduction and sensuality than ever. We here at PROVOKR love Peaky Blinders. If you haven’t watched it, do yourself a favor and take a peek now.
EUPHORIA
Euphoria is one the breakout shows of the year. It features Zendaya and a slew of other young performers, including Hunter Schafer. It’s a teenage drama that focuses on the grittiness of high school along with the teen struggles. The HBO series serves up equal parts of sexy and provocative. It’s definitely a fulfilling viewing experience.
THE L WORD: GENERATION Q
Showtime’s The L Word is one of the sexiest shows ever. It was about lesbians living in LA enjoying sizzling hookups that captivated the audience. So it’s no surprise that the reboot, The L Word: Generation Q, is offering the same experience to a new generation of viewers. There’s just as much sex as in The L Word and we can’t wait to see how it will evolve in the seasons to come.
