SHAMELESS WITHOUT FIONA
Season 10 Of Showtime’s Hit Minus Emmy Rossum

“What are we going to do?” That’s the question Shameless fans are asking as season 10 approaches without Emmy Rossum as Fiona Gallagher. Rossum was just 23 when she assumed the role of the dynamic, sexy older sister. Now 33, Rossum decided the time was right for Fiona to “move down the block.” But, how does that affect season 10 of the Showtime hit?
Well, Emmy Rossum is not the only one leaving the Shameless family. Cameron Monaghan, the groundbreaking character, Ian Gallagher, announced he’s exiting the cast too, although he will be there for the start of the season at least. Ian and Mickey are in prison, and they are having some relationship drama. There’s no word on how many episodes he’ll be in, but Monaghan won’t return. That leaves the talented, captivating William H. Macy as cast lead. (Macy’s also been busy off-screen with the college admissions scandal that sent wife Felicity Huffman to jail.)
The trailer indicates Debbie (Emma Kenney) is stepping into Fiona’s head of the household role. Lip (Jeremy Allen White) is adjusting to parenthood and not in the best way. And, as for Frank (Macy), he continues his usual shenanigans of trying to reclaim the patriarchy.
At the heart of it all, the Gallaghers are still the goofy, loving, relatable family love. Sure, they’ve made mistakes (some of them colossal), but we still love to watch. Here’s to another season of mayhem with the Gallagher family.
