KNOCKED UP

Seth Rogen and Katherine Heigl star in the savvy comedy Knocked Up. The euphemistic title tells of the film’s plot: Rogen’s character partakes in a one-night stand and the woman shows up at his doorstep pregnant eight weeks later. It’s also heading to Hulu.

EXTREMELY WICKED, SHOCKINGLY EVIL AND VILE

Zac Efron as Ted Bundy? Yeah, that’s happening. But this film about the infamous serial killer tells it from the perspective of Bundy’s wife, supplied by the growing talent of Lily Collins. The film is sure to murder any Netflix viewing stats.

WHEN THEY SEE US

The four-part series about the Central Park Five comes from Selma director Ava DuVernay. There have been a few documentaries about the frustrating case against five people of color who convicted of killing a jogger in Central Park. But DuVernay has chosen a biographical drama approach to the narrative that is sure to bring Netflix subscribers to the platform.

DEADWOOD

HBO is adapting its famous western series Deadwood into a feature-length film of the same name. It premieres May 31, so you still have time to binge the series’ 36 episodes. Some of the original cast will return as it takes place 10 years after the series ended.

THE DANISH GIRL

The film about the first person to undergo sex reassignment surgery was equally about her wife as it was her. The Danish Girl stars a gorgeous Eddie Redmayne as the title character, but it’s Alicia Vikander’s performance that will take your breath away. Be sure to watch this exceptional movie on HBO when it arrives.
