When looking for new shows to binge and old shows to rewatch, action series are the best options. There is plenty of drama and a good amount of kicking ass. Whether you’ve already seen every season of the now-canceled shows or are many years behind, check out these shows to fill that need for action:

BREAKING BAD

Breaking Bad is the show everyone recommends when talking about bingeable shows. The protagonist, Walter White (played by Bryan Cranston), is compelling. White is a high school chemistry teacher who finds out he has inoperable lung cancer. He decides to start making meth to ensure his family is taken care of. Breaking Bad is available to stream on Netflix.

BODYGUARD

OK, so Bodyguard isn’t technically canceled, but the BBC show hasn’t been renewed. The show follows a post-Game of Thrones Richard Madden as bodyguard David Budd. He is assigned to protect the Home Secretary, with whom he often disagrees. They uncover a terrorist cell in the UK and have to battle the enemies. Bodyguard is available to stream on Netflix.

DAREDEVIL

Netflix has its fair share of superhero series, and Daredevil is one of them. As a lawyer by day and a superhero-vigilante by night, Daredevil is the equivalent of Batman. The major difference is that Daredevil is blind, but that doesn’t stop him from kicking butt and taking names.

THE WIRE

The Wire is one of the OG anthology series, but the HBO show takes that format and bends the rules. Each season explores a different institution tied to Baltimore law enforcement, such as illegal drug trade and print media. The plots from previous seasons aren’t lost though, which makes The Wire truly one of a kind.

PRISON BREAK

The cancellation of Prison Break broke the hearts of many diehard fans. Thankfully, we can all relive it on Hulu. The series follows an innocent man who is put on death row. He has to rely on his brother to get him out and solve the government conspiracy against him.

LUKE CAGE

Mike Colter plays Luke Cage, a Harlem resident who gains superhuman abilities. He acquired super strength and unbreakable skin through an experiment. He is convinced to use those powers for good, which is great for our Netflix viewing pleasure.

NARCOS

Sometimes the action on screen doesn’t easily translate to real life. Other times the action is real life. That’s what the Netflix series Narcos does. The biographical series follows the life of Columbian drug lord Pablo Escobar. The show is so well produced that you’ll be able to binge in one sitting.
