Steamy Streaming: Denzel Washington
Malcolm X, Glory, Training Day + more

Oh, Denzel, how we love to say your name. And love to binge your movies. Denzel Washington has delivered some of the most iconic performances of all time. It seems his son, John David Washington, is on his way to being equally significant in the history of cinema. This week, we are celebrating Denzel’s wonderful achievements by bingeing our favorite films from him:
GLORY
Denzel won his first Oscar for his performance in the Civil War drama Glory. The film tells the story of the first all-black infantry in the Civil War. Starring alongside Denzel is another legend: Morgan Freeman.
Glory is available to rent on Amazon Prime.
TRAINING DAY
The nine-time Oscar nominee also won for his lead performance in Training Day. The film follows the narcotics department of the LAPD as a corrupt cop, played by Denzel, trains a newbie, played by Ethan Hawke. Training Day is often regarded as a favorite among Denzel fans.
Training Day is available to rent on YouTube.
ANTWONE FISHER
Antwone Fisher marked a significant moment in Denzel’s career: It was the first feature-length film he directed. The film is based on a true story, and the script is written by the real-life person for which the movie was named. What an empowering film.
Antwone Fisher is available to rent on YouTube.
THE BOOK OF ELI
Now, if you haven’t seen The Book of Eli, this needs to be at the top of your list. Denzel plays a blind man who kicks ass in a post-apocalyptic wasteland. He wields the knowledge of many generations, and you won’t believe the twist ending.
The Book of Eli is available on AMC.
THE BONE COLLECTOR
The Bone Collector recently got the TV treatment, but the OG version starred Denzel and Angelina Jolie. The crime thriller features Denzel as a quadriplegic who helps his partner (Jolie) capture a killer terrorizing New York.
The Bone Collector is available on Hulu.
MALCOLM X
We would be remiss if we didn’t put Malcolm X on this list. Regarded as Denzel’s best performance to date, the actor portrays the radical Civil Rights leader. Denzel may not have won the Oscar for his knockout performance, but it will always rank as number one in our books.
Malcolm X is available on Fubo.
