Right about now, TV would be hitting a mid-summer slump, but that has all changed with streaming. Cable TV has already premiered their summer hits, but streaming is just getting started. From documentaries to reality TV to sci-fi dramas, platforms are offering a wide range of possibilities:

VERONICA MARS

Our favorite teenage sleuth is back, but she’s not a teenager anymore. Kristen Bell will reprise her role in the cult classic series Veronica Mars in the Hulu series. It debuts July 26 with the first three seasons hitting the platform July 1. Don’t expect the same tone as the OG, though: Creator Rob Thomas said it’s much, much darker (and in turn sexier).

FOUR WEDDINGS AND A FUNERAL

Game of Thrones may be over, but Nathalie Emmanuel (Missandei) is just getting started. The star is taking on a role completely different than her last: It’s a romantic comedy. She is starring in the miniseries adaptation of the Hugh Grant-led romcom Four Weddings and a Funeral. There is no trailer, but the show hits Hulu on July 31.

QUEER EYE

The Fab Five is back July 19, and we are ready hunny. Netflix’s hit reality TV show Queer Eye is here to make us cry some more. The squad is returning to Kansas City, Missouri, to make people’s dreams come true and inspire them to be their best selves. Honestly, we need one of these men in our lives ASAP.

STRANGER THINGS

Speaking of iconic squads, Stranger Things returns to Netflix July 4, so you don’t have to wait too long to find a binge worthy July hit. Of course, the Upsidedown wasn’t actually sealed in season two, and its monsters are wreaking havoc. Prepare to get spooked well before Halloween.

TYPEWRITER

This three part horror series on Netflix hails from Goa, India. It centers around a haunted house because obviously. Then a family moves in and its secrets are unveiled. It’s your run-of-the-mill horror plot, but there is bound to be some unsuspecting scares along the way. Plus, if Netflix can succeed with Haunting Of Hill House, they can do anything horror related.

UNMASKING JIHADI JOHN: ANATOMY OF A TERRORIST

This two-part documentary series uncovers one of the most notorious ISIS members: Jihadi John. That’s not his real name, and the HBO documentary will seek to uncover more about the person who beheaded many hostages. The documentary appears on HBO on July 31.
