STEAMY STREAMING: PRISON SERIES
Wentworth, Prison Break, Oz + more

This week’s installment is brought to you by Work From Home. As the coronavirus elevates to pandemic levels, many restrictions have been put in place to minimize the spread. That includes travel restrictions and remote work. Whether you’re quarantined or just stuck at home, it might feel like prison. But the good news is, it’s not prison. We’ve compiled a list of some of the best prison series you should binge while practicing “social distancing”:
PRISON BREAK
Prison Break is the first show most of us might think of when it comes to prison series. When an innocent man is sent to Death Row, his brother gets himself locked up in the same prison to break them both out. It’s a crazy, conspiracy-filled ride that last six whole seasons.
Prison Break is available on Hulu.
OZ
If you love J.K. Simmons, then you’ll love the prison series Oz. The HBO show started in 1997, so it’s the perfect throwback to get you through. And the facility takes on drug trade and violence within its cinder walls.
Oz is available on HBO.
ESCAPE AT DANNEMORA
Showtime’s limited true crime series about Dannemora Prison should be at the top of your binge list. The Emmy-winning drama stars Patricia Arquette and Benicio del Toro in show-stopping roles.
Escape at Dannemora is available on Showtime.
ORANGE IS THE NEW BLACK
Orange is the New Black is a must-see for those who haven’t watched it. And if you have seen it, you know what a treasure it is. It’s a lesbian dramedy set behind bars. With seven seasons, this will make 14 days in quarantine fly by.
Orange is the New Black is available on Netflix.
WENTWORTH
If you’ve already binged Orange is the New Black, try out Wentworth. It’s essentially the same feel but in Australia. If you’re feeling trapped, travel to the land down under with this series. You won’t regret it, PROVOKRs.
Wentworth is available on Netflix.
