Paul Thomas Anderson recently announced that he wants Bradley Cooper as lead in his mysterious upcoming film set in the San Fernando Valley, which will take place in the ’70s. HARD EIGHT
In his first film, PTA secured Philip Seymour Hoffman, which began a long collaboration. The 1996 crime drama follows a professional gambler (Philip Baker Hall) who teaches John C. Reilly’s character about gambling. Hoffman is a craps player and Gwyneth Paltrow is a love interest.

Adam Sandler is the lead of PTA’s Punch-Drunk Love, which finds the protagonist extorted by a sex worker. All the while, he’s falling in love with another woman (Emily Watson).

THERE WILL BE BLOOD
Perhaps in his most critically acclaimed movie, PTA enlists the acting talents of Daniel Day-Lewis and Paul Dano. A complex story is told epically and stands at a run time of 2 hours and 38 minutes.

THE MASTER
In one of his last films, Hoffman plays a cult leader in The Master. The story follows one of its new followers, played by Joaquin Phoenix. The film was partly inspired by Scientology and founder L. Ron Hubbard.

Also starring Phoenix, Inherent Vice masterfully blends crime, drama and comedy. The story tracks him as he tries to find his ex-girlfriend.
