McAdams picked up her first Oscar nomination as a persistent journalist uncovering child sex abuse by Catholic priests in Boston. The film won Best Picture that year, with cast member Mark Ruffalo picking up an Oscar nomination.

Before McAdams was a reporter in Spotlight, she was a crime reporter in the political thriller State of Play. She and Russell Crowe work to solve a mystery and write articles for their boss Helen Mirren. Oh, and Ben Affleck is in it. Crazy, right?

DISOBEDIENCE
This lesbian drama is one of our favorites. McAdams plays an Orthodox Jew whose childhood friend (Rachel Weisz) returns to their London neighborhood. Their lingering attraction draws them back together for an affair to remember.

If you’re looking for something sappy to watch, McAdams has no shortage of them. The Vow takes the cake. She stars as a woman who suffers from amnesia and can’t remember her husband (Channing Tatum). Despite the tragic premise, these two are hot on screen.

SHERLOCK HOLMES
Sure, Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law lead this cast, but McAdams steals the show. Those corsets are a-ma-zing.

ABOUT TIME
Possibly one of McAdams best romance films is About Time. It follows her relationship with Domhnall Gleeson’s character, who is able to travel to specific moments in his life and relive them. The sexy, time-bending film is one you will remember.

If you’re looking for an easy watch, Red Eye is a safe bet. McAdams and Cillian Murphy spark romance during a layover. What an adorable meet-cute!

THE NOTEBOOK
The OG Nicholas Sparks novel made for one hell of an adaptation. Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams’ on-screen love is #RelationshipGoals. Not to mention their passionate kiss in the rain straight into hot sex is top-tier. We cannot get enough.
