GI JANE

Demi Moore may be the star of GI Jane, but Mortensen is just as memorable. He plays the tough-ass commander in charge of the rigorous training program. You won’t forget him — or his mustache — after watching it.

A WALK ON THE MOON

This 1999 film takes place in the summer of 1969 when a mom and wife (played by Diane Lane) finds herself. She starts an affair with a man, played by Mortensen. A Walk On The Moon also stars Liev Schreiber and Anna Paquin.

CAPTAIN FANTASTIC

Mortensen takes on the role of a single dad with six children in this emotional portrait of a family that doesn’t participate in American life. The children are exposed to the real world during a secret mission and they realize maybe the world isn’t as bad as their parents made it out to be. George MacKay of 1917 fame stars alongside Mortensen.

HIDALGO

In Hidalgo, Mortensen plays Frank Hopkins, who competes in a cross desert horse race. It’s based on a true story about men who traveled to Arabia in the 1890s to hash it out.

EASTERN PROMISES

Mortensen’s performance in Eastern Promises earned him his first Oscar nomination. He portrays a Russian mobster living in London asked to get close to a detective (Naomi Watts). The mob is tied up in a murder and has to retrieve the victim’s diary before the detective figures everything out.

A HISTORY OF VIOLENCE

If you’re a fan of erotic thrillers, this one should be at the top of your list. Mortensen stars alongside Maria Bello in this sexy, tension-filled action cliff-hanger.

A PERFECT MURDER

Mortensen is the cause of another affair in A Perfect Murder. When a man (Michael Douglas) discovers his wife (Gwyneth Paltrow) is cheating on him, he sets up Mortensen’s character to murder her. It seems like the perfect murder, but is it? Watch to find out, PROVOKRs.
