What can’t Will Smith do? The actor/rapper is one of the best in the biz, providing us with dynamic action performances for the better part of 25 years. I, ROBOT

At the height of the AI paranoia in 2004, Smith plays a detective who is skeptical of the robots. A mass revolution erupts, and Smith swoops in to save the day.

ENEMY OF THE STATE

Enemy of the State features a top-tier performance from Smith. He portrays a lawyer who gets caught up in a politically motivated crime.

I AM LEGEND

If you want to see a vampire apocalypse, then this is the movie for you. Again, Smith plays the hero well, but this one has more depth.

FOCUS

Wow, Will Smith and Margot Robbie together in a film? It’s as hot as you would expect. Robbie plays a femme fatale to Smith’s character in an epic scheme.

THE PURSUIT OF HAPPYNESS

Smith turned this project into a family affair when his son Jaden played his on-screen son in Pursuit of Happyness. The film is a gut-wrenching portrayal of poverty, and both provide stellar performances.

AFTER EARTH

But that wasn’t the only film they were in together. Years later, they reunited on screen with the sci-fi action flick After Earth.

MEN IN BLACK

If you’re looking to add a little comedy to your weekend, the next three recommendations are for you. Men In Black has it all: aliens, action, and Tommy Lee Jones.

FRESH PRINCE OF BEL-AIR

If you’re excited about the currently streaming Fresh Prince of Bel-Air reunion, then now is a good time to rewatch some of your favorite episodes.

WILD WILD WEST

If you’ve never seen this gem, you’re missing out. The campy film put Salma Hayek on the movie map in the U.S., and Smith’s character (rightfully) has the hots for her.

This Ang Lee film didn’t do as well as it should have. You’ll be seeing double as Smith plays a hitman out to kill his clone.

ALI

Smith picked up an Oscar nomination for his fantastic portrayal of Muhammad Ali. The boxing legend lives on, and so does this performance.

INDEPENDENCE DAY

Independence Day was Smith’s first film post-Fresh Prince — and he started the right way. The 1996 alien action movie has all the components of an iconic action film, and without it, we likely wouldn’t have Smith as an A-list movie star.
