Carly Craig Stars In YouTube's Sexiest Series

BY: Zak Wojnar

YouTube was the original video sharing site, and they’ve recently started making a push into premium original content in an effort to zero in on a market dominated by the likes of Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon Prime. To that end, they’ve invested in a handful of programs like Karate Kid spin-off Cobra Kai, Ryan Hansen Solves Crimes on Television, and the quirky Lazer Team film series.

Their latest original show is a sexy comedy called Sideswiped. Series creator Carly Craig (American Housewife), Chelsea Frei, and Rosanna Arquette (Ray Donovan) star as three women in different stages of their lives. Carly plays Olivia, a business-oriented woman in her mid-thirties who decides to live a little and give online dating on shot– via Tinder – by dating all 252 of her matches. Frei plays her younger sister, who is married, and thus living vicariously through her older sister’s misadventures. And Arquette plays their mother, a recent widow who is making her own waves in the seemingly bottomless dating pool. Celebrity guest stars include SNL alum Jason Sudeikis, 80s rock star/heartthrob Rick Springfield (yes, the Rick Springfield), and the sexiest “older” man on the screen today, Peter Gallagher (Grace and Frankie).

The eight-part series is a breezy, cheeky, sexy, romantic, and irreverently enjoyable comedy made by women, for women. But we’ve got to admit, Craig’s clever, true-to-life, laugh-out-loud writing, not to mention the sight of Sideswipe‘s three gorgeous leads in various stages of undress, will be more than enough to get the male audience onboard, too.

Sideswiped is a YouTube original series, which means you have to sign up for the YouTube Premium service (previously known as YouTube Red) in order to watch. The service costs $11.99 per month and grants you access to all of YouTube‘s premium programming, as well as ad-free browsing of its hosted content. If you watch a lot of online videos and hate commercials, it’s definitely worth it.

Sideswiped debuts July 25 on YouTube.
