TED LASSO SEASON 2
A Winning Season in Many Ways

Lace up your cleats because AppleTV+’s Ted Lasso is back for season two — and it’s even better than the first.
Season two finds the regulated AFC Richmond team trying to fight its way back into the Premier League, but a long streak of draws prevents them from getting a leg up on the competition. To get back to previous standings, the loveable Lasso (Jason Sudeikis) and his assistant coaches, Beard (Brendan Hunt) and Nathan (Nick Mohammed), find ways to increase morale and not disgrace their city.
The whole cast and crew are back. Rebecca (Hannah Waddingham) and Keeley’s (Juno Temple) friendship continues to blossom, as will Keeley’s relationship with Roy Kent (Brett Goldstein). The loveable Higgins (Jeremy Swift) is also back, rounding out the main cast.
The AppleTV+ series stole everyone’s hearts last season as it followed Lasso, an American football coach, to the UK to coach European football (aka soccer). On the surface, Ted Lasso looks like a goofy, self-deprecating comedy. Beneath that, though, is a wholesome story that hit at the right time: during a global pandemic. Lasso, for better or worse, is riddled with blind optimism. But, he always sees the best. And in hard times, a little optimism goes a long way.
As the first reviews come out for season two, it goes beyond that. Ted Lasso is a fantastic show through and through. Perhaps that’s why it won Sudeikis a Golden Globe, and the series landed a whopping 20 Emmy nominations. But, of course, its success can be chalked up to Sudeikis’ brilliant creation — one that, with the help of others, he’s finally starting to realize is part of his inherent being.
“When (people are) like, ‘No, that is you. That is you. That’s not the best version of you.’ That’s a very lovely thing to hear. I wish it on everybody who gets the opportunity to be or do anything in life and have someone have the chance to say, ‘Hey, that’s you. That’s you,'” Sudeikis told GQ. “It’s the closest thing I have to a tattoo. It’s the most personal thing I’ve ever made.”
Ted Lasso continues to get better and better, PROVOKRs. We hope you’ll tune in with us.
Ted Lasso season two begins on July 23 on AppleTV+ and airs weekly.
