It’s been two years since Star Wars: Rise of Skywalker was released, and the Mandalorian season 2 was released a year ago. These were the last live-action Star Wars projects from Disney. Now, in just a few weeks, Disney will once again premiere live-action Star Wars projects beginning with The Book of Boba Fett.

For decades fans have been begging for more Boba Fett even though he appeared in two movies with very few lines and presumably died in an anticlimactic way. Nevertheless, the mysterious bounty hunter managed to leave an impression on Star Wars fans. As a result, Mandalorian viewers got to see him again on screen in season 2 for the first time since 1983’s Return of the Jedi. It turns out that after falling in that Sarlacc pit, he didn’t die after all. Instead, he survived and ditched his iconic green armor.

Set after his appearances in The Mandalorian season 2, The Book of Boba Fett will see the former bounty hunter, Temuera Morrison, team up with Fennec Shand, played by Ming-Na Wen, to take over territory that once belonged to Fett’s boss Jabba the Hutt. You’ll be able to catch the show when its first episode airs on Disney+ on December 29.

This isn’t the only Disney+ Star Wars show coming up. Andor is expected to air at some point in mid-2022. That show will follow Cassian Andor, a rebel spy, in the years preceding Rogue One. Andor was one of the main characters in Rogue One, and a film considered the best of the new Star Wars movies, so fans are without a doubt excited about it.

Star Wars shows on Disney+ have an excellent reputation so far. The Book of Boba Fett and Andor will try to uphold that reputation when they premiere.
