THE DIRT ROCKS STREAMING

Mötley Crüe Biopic Rocks Its Way To Netflix

Kickstart your heart and access your wild side because it’s almost time for the Mötley Crüe biopic, The Dirt. The film will find its home sweet home at Netflix on March 22.

The film tells the story of the band that knew no boundaries on and off the stage. From setting fire to hotel curtains and dropping stuff out its windows onto passerbys’ cars, there is no shortage of hooligan antics when talking about the ’80s hair band.

Rapper Machine Gun Kelly (aka Colson Baker) assumes the role of drummer Tommy Lee. Lee is also known for his famous marriage to actress Heather Locklear. Game of Thrones actor Iwan Rheon (the evil Ramsay Bolton on GoT) portrays guitarist Mick Mars, and of course he will wear the signature hat. Douglas Booth takes on keyboardist Nikki Sixx, and Daniel Webber lets his hair down for his role as lead singer Vince Neil. Oh, and everyone’s favorite cameo Pete Davidson will play the band’s record label manager Tom Zutaut.

The film is based on the book of the same name written by the band’s four members. The confessional talks about the fun the band had, but also its vices. By the looks of the trailer, the film will address Lee’s split from Locklear, Neil’s run-in with the law, Sixx’s overdose and Mars’ health problems. Unlike some other biopics (cough, cough Bohemian Rhapsody), it appears The Dirt won’t shy away from the grittier sides of Mötley Crüe’s reign.

The Dirt arrives at the perfect time. There has been a growing presence in film for ’80s and ’90s nostalgia trips. It happened with the Oscar-winning Bohemian Rhapsody and a biopic about Elton John titled Rocketman will hit theaters at the very end of May. But, hey, we’re not complaining about the recent trend.

The Dirt will be available to stream March 22 on Netflix.
