THE L WORD: GEN Q RETURNS | The Sexy Sapphic Series Is Hotter Than Ever!
The L Word is the gift that keeps on giving. Its sexy reboot, Generation Q, features all of our favorites from the original cast — and it’s back for season two. The Showtime series returns on Aug. 8, but if you’re a Showtime subscriber, you can watch it two days early.
WARNING: THIS POST CONTAINS SPOILERS FOR THE L WORD: GENERATION Q SEASON ONE.
In true L Word fashion, season one of Generation Q ended on a cliffhanger. If you might recall, Dani (Arienne Mandi) asked Sophie (Rosanny Zayas) to elope, then shortly after Sophie hooked up with Finley (Jacqueline Toboni). Of course, there was a scene of Sophie running through the airport where both women just so happened to be. We don’t know who Sophie chooses, but we are dying to find out.
Then there is Shane (Katherine Moennig). Oh, Shane. According to the season two trailer, she is up to her usual antics: sex with married women and flirting with everyone. She is living life in her 40s and we admire her for that.
But, if we’re being honest, we want to see more scenes of Shane and Quiara (Lex Scott Davis), like this one in season one. (This is just a Shane fan article now).
The real drama though is going to come in Bette (Jennifer Beals)’s life. At the end of season one, we watched her lose the Los Angeles mayoral race right as her ex-wife, Tina (Laurel Holloman), was about to remarry. And you’re never going to guess who joins the cast as Tina’s new wife. Rosie O’Donnell. Yes, the lesbians win again! We can’t wait to see this new addition to the lineup.
Then there’s Micah (Leo Shang), who will spend season two experimenting. “I slept with a girl!” he proclaims in the trailer. Good on you, Micah.
Season two is shaping up to be the hottest L Word iteration yet — and that’s saying something after that threesome in season one. Happy watching, PROVOKRs.
