Hit that reset button, The OA fans. Our main character is alive and well in a dimension where Barack Obama wasn’t president. (Tbh, this is the most disturbing part of the trailer).

The trailer for the new season, which will hit Netflix on March 22, shows OA (played by the captivating Brit Marling) waking up in a hospital in the year 2016. So we start right back at the beginning, but something feels different this time around. She can still see, but she says, “I did it.”

Season 2 will likely be as confusing as the first, but in a good way. The captivating stories — and dance moves — that made the first season so good will return for a second. The OG cast is set to return, along with some new faces. Kingsley Ben-Adir joins the cast as private investigator Karim Washington, who is looking into the disappearance of a teenage boy. When Karim shows OA a photo of the kid, she recognizes him. It could be many people, so we will have to wait to find out.

The OA accrued a cult following after its first season ended three years. Part one came out amidst a wave of sci-fi dramas on Netflix, including the ’80s call-back dramedy Stranger Things.

It has been three years since the previous season ended, and it has given fans ample time to speculate what is going to happen. Some believe Prairie is a cult leader, while others think OA could also stand for DOA, or dead on arrival. Theories are circulating that this is all taking place in the OA’s head. The most likely theory is the movements are based on the the Hindu and Buddhist practice mudra that is used to channel cosmic energy.

Whether or not these theories are true, we can’t wait to see where the OA goes next.

The OA returns March 22 on Netflix.
