Inside Hulu’s new drama about a religious sect

In the three years since Breaking Bad’s series finale, Aaron Paul hasn’t exactly been lying low—he’s appeared in six films including the recently released heist drama Triple 9—but none of the roles has come close to achieving the pop culture resonance of his big-hearted meth dealer character, Jesse Pinkman. Hulu’s new series, The Path, may finally give Paul a part meaty enough to build on his Breaking Bad laurels. The series takes you inside the gated compound of the Meyerist movement, a cult-like religious group headed up by an increasingly megalomaniacal leader (played by Hugh Dancy). Paul plays a Meyerist acolyte who’s married to a high-ranking member of the group (Michelle Monaghan) and who becomes increasingly at odds with the teachings and tactics of the movement. Check out this video featurette on making of the series and tune in for the debut on March 30.
