THE UNDOING
Nicole Kidman, Hugh Grant, Donald Sutherland

If you’re looking to fill the Big Little Lies-shaped hole in your TV schedule, look no further than HBO’s upcoming show The Undoing. The series stars the multi-talented Nicole Kidman and hails from Big Little Lies creator David E. Kelley. The two forge a dream-team collaboration with director Susanne Bier (The Night Manager, Bird Box), who has worked with Kidman’s production company, Blossom Films.
The series follows Grace Sachs (Kidman), a successful New York City marriage counselor with everything a person could seemingly need. She has a devoted husband, Jonathan (played by the illustrious Hugh Grant) and a loving son, Henry (Noah Jupe, who lit up the screen in Alma Har’el and Shia LeBeouf’s Honey Boy). Donning a wig and bright green overcoat, Kidman gets wrapped up in the murder of a mysterious woman. The trailer — which you can watch above — demonstrates the high energy of this thriller. The dissonant chords, the frantic glances, all lead to a feeling of panic and potentially life-changing secrets that lie in the lips of their keeper. It’s an entirely visceral experience packed into two captivating minutes.

The 6-part limited series, based on the Jean Hanff Korelitz book You Should Have Known, offers an equal amount of thrills to consume before the show’s May 10 release date. Kidman’s production company, Blossom Pictures, is at the helm of The Undoing. Big Little Lies is also from Blossom Pictures.
The on-screen talent alone suggests we watch this series as soon as it is released. Joining Kidman and Grant is American Horror Story alumna Lily Rabe, Edgar Ramirez as the lead detective and Donald Sutherland as Kidman’s father. PROVOKR lovers, pencil The Undoing into your schedule. It is one you won’t want to miss.
