Ian Somerhalder Returns To The Vampire Genre
Remember the Twilight era when you couldn’t change channels without seeing a vampire? Well, if you think the vampire genre took a stake to the heart and was doused in holy water, you are wrong. And to top it all off, an alum of that period in entertainment history stars in Netflix’s new series V Wars.
The Vampire Diaries’ brunette hottie, Ian Somerhalder, stars as Dr. Luther Swann, who is tasked with finding a cure for the vampire epidemic that has broken out. Dr. Swann isn’t just some detached expert. He has something at stake in all of this. His best friend, Michael Fayne (Adrian Holmes), is infected and now a cold-blooded killer. That serves as the foundation for what will surely be our new streaming obsession.
The series has a premise similar to I Am Legend and pairs it with the tone and feel of The Vampire Diaries and True Blood — including the sex. Most of the captivating trailer is teasing the hookups set to take place. The visuals of rumpled up dresses and hot bodies pressing against one another brings a whole new meaning to blood thirst. (I’m feeling thirsty just watching it.) With 10 episodes clocking in at about an hour each, we’re sure you’ll have them consumed in no time.
