Fracture
Fracture is a five-part mini-series about singer-songwriter Mya, played by Jesse Jo Stark, trying to find her voice. The series will also star Charles Melton (Riverdale), Tommy Dorfman (13 Reasons Why), and Ajani Russell (Skate Kitchen). Part of what makes this series so highly anticipated is that it’s the first time an entertainment company—UK’s Channel 4—has partnered with Balmain’s fashion brand. As a result, all characters will be wearing the label exclusively from its Fall-Winter 2021 collection. Not only that, but it’s also Tommy Dorfman’s first project since she came out as transgender this summer. Safe to say, it’s a big deal. Worldwide streaming will be available on www.fractureseries.com on September 2.
Only Murders in the Building
Only Murders in the Building premiered on August 31! OMITB follows a group of neighbors who try everything in their power to figure out how a homicide took place in their New York City building. Five episodes are available to watch on Hulu right now, so get to it! It’s sure to be one of the most intriguing true-crime series. It stars Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Selena Gomez.
Vacation Friends
Vacation Friends is a new Hulu original movie that premiered on August 27. Unfortunately, we’re a little late on watching it, but the combination of Lil Rel Howery, Yvonne Orji, John Cena, and Meredith Hagner is too good to pass up. It’s a comedy that will make you laugh and is a nice break from all of the documentaries, thrillers, and horror movies headed our way.
Laetitia
On a darker note, Laetitia is a new HBO Max series that follows the true story of a missing French girl. Investigators uncover truths about her and her twin sister as they investigate. The first episode has aired, so, unfortunately, this isn’t one to binge-watch, but considering the material, I think it’s probably for the best!
What We Do in the Shadows
What We Do in the Shadows is a Hulu documentary-style comedy series that follows four vampires who’ve “lived together for years.” The show’s third season airs on September 2, so get watching the first two if you haven’t seen them already!
