THE FORGOTTEN BATTLE

1944, the Second World War and a British glider pilot, a Dutch boy fighting on the German side, and a Dutch female resistance member were involved in the Battle of the Scheldt. Their choices differ, but their goal is the same: freedom.

The Forgotten Battle is expected to be one of the most exciting movies coming to Netflix in October 2021. The Forgotten Battle, known as one of the bloodiest and most significant losses for the Canadian army, is a Netflix Original war drama directed by Matthijs van Heijningen Jr. and is officially the first Netflix-produced Dutch Original movie. While The Forgotten Battle hasn’t broken the record for the most expensive Dutch production ever, it is the second most expensive thanks to its €14 million budget.

The story is told through the perspective of three different participators of the Battle of the Scheldt; a Dutch axis pilot played by Gijs Blom, one of the most promising actors in the Netherlands, a British air pilot, played by Jamie Flatters, and a female resistance fighter from Zeeland played by Susan Radder.
